Meet Our Core Team
With an extensive 35 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical, diagnostic, and biomedical research industries across the globe, Mr. Khatami, M.B.A. is a serial entrepreneur with a proven track record of success. Having lived and held senior professional positions and consultancies in China, Europe, and Saudi Arabia, Mr. Khatami brings a unique profile to international business development. His vast network of high-level successful international pharmaceutical contacts is a testament to his expertise in the healthcare industry.
Currently, Mr. Khatami is a partner at Prescient Venture Development Limited, an international business consulting company based in Hong Kong, and the co-founder & senior partner at Prescient Cross border, a global business development firm operating in the US, Europe, and China. His experience includes biotech startup/new venture development, fundraising, business development/strategic planning, technology commercialization, drug discovery, and diagnostic product development.
Throughout his career, Mr. Khatami has held several senior management and business consultant positions within the biotechnology industry, such as project manager at King Abdullah International Medical Center in Saudi Arabia, president of sGC Pharma, co-founder and CEO of Remedyon, Inc., co-founder and CEO of Neuronautics, Inc., and associate with Cole & Associates. He has also worked as a project manager at Celsis International, an operation manager at Molecular Geriatric Inc., and a project manager and research scientist at Abbott Laboratories Diagnostic Division, where he made significant contributions to the development of multiple diagnostic products.
Tom Wu is a highly experienced Founding Partner with expertise in cross border transactions and early-stage asset partnership. He specializes in strategic positioning consulting and management for AI cloud-based, breakthrough biomedical solutions, pharma new product developments, medical devices/MedTech, green energy sector, and carbon-negative emerging companies. With over 22 years of industry experience, Mr. Wu has an extensive background in investment and management. He has created new business opportunities and developed innovative products in the broader healthcare market throughout Asia.
Since 2010, he has been the acting Managing Director for China First Private Equity Management Co. Ltd., an international financial advisory and investment company based in Hong Kong. He has made financial deals with major venture capitals, private equities, top investment firms in Healthcare, Green Energy and AI Technologies, within Financial and Bankers top executive old boys network. He is actively involved in several pre-IPO and post-IPO asset enhancement projects as well as in the ASEAN market. Mr. Wu's latest ventures include Healthcare, Elderly care, cloud-based SaMD, PaaS, and investment funds, where he serves as a partner and/or advisory board member.
Mr. Wu has embarked on a visionary plan to assist in the development of biotech companies, with a particular focus on identifying the latest medical breakthroughs and innovative ways to deliver medicines, medical equipment, and diagnostic alternatives. Currently, he is the Chief Strategy Officer for global corporate development at Dex Medical Device Co., Ltd. He has also taken on the roles of Co-Founder and Executive Partner as an advisor and board member for various companies, including Microbase Technology Corp., Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, neural and viral treatments in collaboration with the founders of Newport Brain Research Laboratory Inc.(NBRL Global), DanceBiopharm, NAL Pharma, General Data Collection LTD in the biotech sector.
William Johnson has over 30 years of experience working in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device industry. He has a diverse background and extensive work experience in Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Cell Biology, Gene Therapy, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Virology, and stem cell biology. Mr. Johnson has held key research leadership and supervisory positions at prestigious institutions such as Novartis, Wyeth, the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard University, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Mayo Clinic, and The Scripps Research Institute, among others.
His expertise lies in strategic analysis, assessing the scientific and market potential of new technologies and therapies, conducting business development using competitive intelligence and due diligence, providing operational advisory support for startup and early-stage private and public companies, and guiding the formation, launch, and acquisition of early-stage startups across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device industry. He is also adept at conducting prior art patent searches, market and competitive landscape analyses, corporate partner identification, and potential commercial evaluations for new inventions.
Mr. Johnson has worked with companies based in various countries, including the US, Canada, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Switzerland.
